Biography
Clea McEnery West is Director of Counselling and Psychotherapy at Birkbeck in the Department of Psychosocial Studies as well as a practising psychotherapist and clinical supervisor.
She is the programme director for the MSc Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy and the MSc Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy for Children and Adolescents.
Before working at Birkbeck, Clea gained extensive experience as a psychotherapist in private practice and working for various counselling and psychotherapy organisations. She has been a clinical supervisor for counsellors and psychotherapists at MIND in Barnet and Highbury Counselling Service.
Office hours
Flexible hours, but generally weekdays 9-5.30

Clea does not supervise PhD students.
Teaching
Clea teaches on the the Psychosocial and Psychodynamic Practice and Advanced Clinical Concepts modules on the MSc Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy. She runs the biannual Reflective Practice Event for year 1 of the adult and child/adolescent masters trainings.
