Biography
Birgitte Andersen,
Professor of the Economics and Management of Innovation,Professor Birgitte Andersen’s academic research foundation and business leadership experiences bridge the gap between (1) the academic theoretical and ‘methods’ world, and (2) knowledge of the emerging technology and industry trends in a future-facing business and policy world. Therefore, much of her teaching and impact builds upon these two spheres:
(1)

Her work on IPRs, AI, and the digital and economy and innovation is published in academic journals and highlighted in government reports.
She has advised economists and policymakers of national governments (including UK Intellectual Property Office, Bank of England, Department of Industry, and Parliament) in and beyond Europe including OECD, UN and WIPO; and large firms, and serves as an expert defence witness in the UK courts on matters of IP use on the Internet. She was the Rapporteur for the EU Commission representing the EU Expert Group on Knowledge Transfer and Open Innovation and sat on the EU Expert Advisory Panel for Horizon 2020 - Societal Challenge: Europe in a Changing World – Inclusive, Innovative and Reflective Societies. Since October 2018, Birgitte is appointed to the Arab League Expert Group regarding the Digital Government Strategy for the Arab World.
