Overview
Biography
Aideen's research sits at the intersection between science and society, exploring how people perceive environmental issues and use environmental data to inform decision-making at local scales. She is particularly interested in impacts of extreme weather and climate change in small islands and coastal communities. Her research has appeared in journals such as International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction, International Journal of Climatology, Progress in Physical Geography, and WIREs Climate Change.
Prior to joining Birkbeck, Aideen was a Research Associate at the Cambridge Centre for Climate Change Mitigation Research, and a Marie Curie Experienced Researcher with the FP7-funded GREENCYCLESII Initial Training Network on biosphere-climate interactions. She was also a guest researcher at Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research.
