How to Prevent Crocodile Attacks Survey

If you live or work in an area where crocodile attacks occur, then you are invited to participate in our global survey of management actions which are intended to prevent crocodile attacks and other negative interactions between humans, domesticated animals and crocodilians.

Aim of the survey

  • To discover the main management actions, but also the range of kinds of actions, being used to manage negative impacts of crocodilians worldwide. We are aware of some regional variations in what actions are, and aren’t, used.
  • We seek information on who is taking which actions to prevent crocodile attacks in your location. This includes wildlife management or other authorities, and also communities. We also want your opinion on how effective (or not) these interventions are.
  • Our goal is to gather information to inform expert guidance on effective strategies for preventing crocodilian attacks for managers, local authorities and others in affected areas.

Results will be analyzed, and a synthesis report written, with management recommendations. This will be published in an Open Access publication. You will receive an electronic copy by link or email.

The information you share in this study will be kept completely confidential. All data will be stored securely by Dr Simon Pooley. Data used in any publications will not include your name or details (unless we contact you directly, and you agree).
