Accounting and finance research
The Birkbeck Business School's accounting and finance subject group actively promotes the quality and capacity of teaching and research in accounting, banking and finance.
We have an interdisciplinary focus, bridging the gap between expertise in econometrics, mathematical finance, and operational research to provide highly ranked research in accounting, banking, and finance. This interdisciplinary approach allows for a comprehensive understanding of the functioning of financial markets.
The group emphasises the integration of theoretical and empirical concepts with practical applications. This ensures that students and researchers gain not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills relevant to accounting, banking, and finance professions.
We conduct high-quality research that contributes to the academic literature, and addresses policy challenges in accounting, banking, and finance.
