Study performing arts and creative industries
Performing arts and creative industries at Birkbeck approach theatre, performance, directing, dramaturgy and arts management from practical and academic perspectives. Led by internationally recognised artists and researchers, our programmes are distinctive for maintaining close relationships with London’s vibrant theatre and performance industry and creative sectors, with students benefitting from close access to some of the world’s most exciting theatres, museums, galleries and art spaces.
You will develop subject knowledge, practical skills in creative production and industry insight to prepare you for a career in the creative and cultural industries, or advanced studies.
You will be based in a building that was once home to Virginia Woolf and frequented by members of the Bloomsbury Group. The building houses our own creative hub which includes the Peltz Gallery, Birkbeck Cinema, a theatre and performance studio and Birkbeck Centre for Contemporary Theatre, which programme a dynamic range of events open to students and the public.
