Spring graduation 2024

The 2024 Spring graduation ceremonies returned to University of London's Senate House and saw over 1,200 postgraduate students celebrate their academic success.

Graduating students were addressed and congratulated by Professor Sally Wheeler, Vice-Chancellor of Birkbeck; Baroness Joan Bakewell, President of Birkbeck; two former Birkbeck students, Anne-Marie Huby and Dr Lauren Barnett; and current student William Sarenden.

The ceremonies showcased the rich diversity of its student population, featuring graduates from all ages, cultural backgrounds, and life journeys celebrating their achievements. Here are some of their remarkable stories.

Sumana, an international student from India, studied MSc Advanced Computing Technologies at Birkbeck to advance her career. She discusses how the course and a mentoring programme helped her secure a new job.
