How to make a counselling appointment
If you would like to make an appointment for an initial consultation with one of our counsellors, please send an email to the Counselling Service with your name, student ID, telephone number and email address.
Counselling registration form
Once we have received your details via email, a member of our team will send you a registration form to complete and return. The registration form will ask you to provide us with information about the way you are feeling and how this is affecting your studies. You will also be able to tell us more about your availability and highlight day and time preferences, which will allow us to offer you a suitable appointment.
Appointment waiting times
Once you have returned your completed registration form, we will offer you an appointment for an initial consultation via email. We aim to offer you an appointment within two weeks of you completing the registration form and questionnaires sent to you following your initial enquiry. However, during peak periods the wait for an appointment will be longer.
Appointments are available between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday, and until 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please note that late appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays are during term time only.
Confirming your appointment
Once you have been offered an appointment, it is very important that you confirm within 48 hours of the offer that you will be attending. If you do not confirm, the appointment slot may be offered to another student.
