Your student ID card

Once you enrol on your course, you can apply for your Birkbeck student identity card.

How to get your Birkbeck identity card

The simplest way to get your identity card is by ordering it via My Birkbeck. Just upload a recent image of yourself and submit your order.

Your card will be posted to your contact address. Once you have ordered your card you can print out a temporary identity card from your My Birkbeck Profile, which will give you library access. You will receive your card approximately five days before your temporary card expires.

The identity card will remain valid for the duration of your studies.

Replacement student card

To get a replacement card, please visit the Student Advice Service, where you will be able to buy and order your replacement card (for a non-refundable fee of £10).

If your card is damaged and you require a replacement, you should return it to the Student Advice Service. 

New international students

Once you have enrolled and ordered your card via My Birkbeck, your card will be sent to the Student Advice Centre. You will receive an email when it is ready to collect. Simply drop by 4-6:30pm Monday to Thursday or 3-5pm on Friday to pick it up. If you have a UK address listed as your contact address on your My Birkbeck profile, your card will be posted to you.
