Giving Circles

Since Birkbeck was founded in 1823, supporters have enriched our research, emboldened our teaching, and removed the financial barriers that many students face.

As a member of one of our Giving Circles, you will be a vital part of our Birkbeck community: changing the lives of existing and future Birkbeck students.

In thanks for your gift we will send you regular updates, invite you to exclusive events and, with your permission, display your name on the digital wall of recognition in Birkbeck’s main reception.

We welcome single gifts, as well as direct debits or longer term pledges. Below are some examples of where your gift may help, but we are happy to discuss this further with you. Call us on +44 (0)20 3926 3112 or if you would like to know more.

Major Gifts (£25,000+ per year)

  • In supporting Birkbeck with a major gift you will be part of a transformative group. Your gift can go towards a wealth of opportunities, including PhD support, funding innovative new roles, and naming opportunities.

1823 Circle (£5000-£24,999 per year)

  • If you choose to join our 1823 Circle, named after Birkbeck's founding year, you can contribute to areas such as student scholarships, excellent facilities and world-renowned research.
  • A direct debit gift would begin at £417 a month.

Master's Circle (£1000-£4999 per year)

  • As a member of our Master's Circle, your gift can provide invaluable support to students who need it - allowing them to study and thrive, regardless of their financial situation or background.
  • A direct debit gift would begin at £84 a month.
